FreeCAD is an Open Source 3d Solid Modeler based on OpenCASCADE.
It's under strong development and all features are not implemented yet, but I think that when finished, FreeCAD will be a great and powerful alternative to well known proprietary competitors like Solidworks, Pro/Engineer (Creo) etc.
Version 0.11 brings huge improvements on speed and workflow.
It's not ready yet for professional usage,but is a great step forward to FreeCAD's development and maybe very soon we will have a complete and powerful professional Free and Opensource 3D CAD solution.
